Experienced Grant Development Lead and Programme Manager
Are you familiar with the funding landscape for humanitarian development aid, and do you have a solid experience in grant writing with a good track record of securing funding? Can you convey complex information clearly and persuasively, and do you demonstrate strong research and analytic skills? And do you have successfully managed humanitarian/development programmes and teams? If so, you may be our new Grant Development Lead and Programme Manager!
You will be part of a team with five other Programme Managers based in Denmark, Belgium and Tajikistan who support programming in Afghanistan, Ukraine, Syria, Tajikistan, Nigeria, Nepal, and Armenia. The team also provides thematic support on water, climate and the environment, humanitarian action, inclusion, localisation, HDP nexus, advocacy and innovation. The team reports to the International Director.
The Job
The main purpose of your role is to increase Mission East’s (MEED) grants income by leading and actively contributing to the writing process for major funding proposals. The Grant Development Lead will play a critical role in identifying opportunities and researching, developing, and writing grant proposals to institutional donors (Danish MFA, UN, EU, etc).
Additionally, you will provide HQ oversight and strategic coordination of a selected country partnerships, or contribute to the improvement of one of MEED’s thematic areas of work.
You should have
- A master level degree in International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field
- Proven experience in grant writing, ideally within the humanitarian sector, with a proven track record of securing funding
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively
- Strong research skills and the ability to analyse and synthesize information
- Experience in management of donor relations and reporting and a proven track record of successfully managing humanitarian/development programmes and teams.
- Proficiency in English & Danish (written and verbal) and excellent communication skills
- Sympathy with MEED’s organisational values
